DON’T: Ask people to follow you; if they like your photos, they will follow you on their own. DON’T: Like every photo you see; make sure your “like” retains some value, so when you truly like something, people know it. DON’T: Post 100 photos a day; it’s annoying, and I want to see other photos…

Instaquette Part 1: The Dos of Instagram

DO: Match your Instagram and Twitter names; this makes it easier for people to find you on both networks. DO: Be social; follow your friends, family, favourite brands and celebrities to fill your feed with pictures you love. DO: Share interesting photos; consider lighting, composition, etc.

Be careful

If you stumble a lot of your own posts you will get filtered by Stumbleupon and your sites will not be stumbled. Make sure you stumble other people’s sites as well at at least a 20 to 1 ratio.

Gain more stumbles
